International Symposium “Frontiers in the development and application of plant phenotyping: What are we seeking in plant phenotyping?”

Date: October 12, 2023, Thursday (Starts at 10:00 a.m.; JST, UTC+9)

Location:
(On-site) Ichijo Hall, Yayoi Auditorium, The University of Tokyo, 1-1-1 Yayoi, Bunkyo City, Tokyo, Japan 113-0032
(Online) Zoom Webinar

Registration: Free

We are pleased to announce that International Symposium “Frontiers in the development and application of plant phenotyping: What are we seeking in plant phenotyping” will be held in a hybrid form on October 12, 2023.

Currently, many plant phenotyping technologies are being developed around the world. On the other hand, how to apply such phenotyping technologies or their data in breeding and plant science has not been fully discussed. Therefore, in this symposium, we requested nine experts in cutting-edge research using plant phenotyping technologies from abroad and Japan to introduce their research activities. We also would like to discuss the perspective of phenotyping technologies.

This symposium is supported by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan; the Moonshot Research and Development Program for Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (funding agency: Bio-oriented Technology Research Advancement Institution, grant number: JPJ009237), The University of Tokyo, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO).

Organizing committee: Yusaku Uga (NARO), Toru Fujiwara (U. Tokyo), Nobuhiro Tanaka (NARO), Kaoru Yoshida (U. Tokyo)
